Meet the passionate individuals who make up the Liyan Foundation team. Each member brings their unique skills and expertise to help us make a positive impact in the lives of those in need.

Co-founder and COO
Melanie Hogan
Melanie Hogan spent the first phase of her career in corporate finance before embarking upon her film career. For over 20 years she has worked collaboratively with Aboriginal creatives telling stories in both urban and remote communities to help bridge the gap between the values held by the wider community and those held by Aboriginal people. She lives in Avalon Beach on Guringai country.

Victor Hunter
Victor Hunter has over seven decades of lived experience residing and working in Aboriginal communities. He is driven by the idea that change will only happen for people for whom change is necessary, when the people themselves do something about it. Victor is a Nyikina man from the West Kimberley region of Western Australia.

Board Director
Cherie Sibosado
Cherie has over 20 years’ experience in community leadership, management, governance and development and services and 15 years in facilitation, non-accredited training and mentoring. She is passionate about enhancing community-controlled approaches that are centred on First Nations building. Cherie is a Nyikina and Bard woman from the West Kimberley region of Western Australia.

Ben Moseley
Benjamin Moseley is the Managing Director of Civil and Civic and a highly regarded Civil Construction expert with over 25 years industry experience. Working collaboratively with Government and private sectors he possesses extensive technical experience across all facets of construction processes and innovative engineering solutions. He lives in Canberra on Ngunnawal country.

Head of Marketing & Communications
Pia Dorer
Pia Dorer has 20 years of experience in brand strategy, film, events, social media, web, and publishing design. Pia works from both the U.S and Australia, servicing clients across the finance, engineering, aged care and non profits sectors. She lives in Avalon Beach on Guringai country.

Architect
Robert Toland
Robert Toland has over 50 years of experience in Architecture. His commissions have taken him all over Australia and the world. He designed a performance facility for the Tjapukai community in far north Queensland, a Keeping Place for Mungo Lady & Mungo Man at Willandra Lakes, a Cultural Centre for the Ngarluma Yindjibarni Communities as well an Art Centre for the Yinjaa Barni Artists in Roebourne, Western Australia.
